Abstract

The paper systematizes scientific approaches to improving the accuracy of discrete phase synchronization systems with combined control in satellite telecommunication systems. The influence of noise, Doppler frequency shift, internal negative factors of digital implementation, and transient operating conditions on phase error is analyzed. The study summarizes the invariant approach to suppressing the transient phase-error component, variable open-loop structure techniques, multicriteria loop-parameter optimization, and the use of adaptive filtering methods. Research aspects that have been addressed in the literature but not fully resolved are identified, and a generalized model for synthesizing an accuracy-improvement method is proposed. It is shown that an effective synthesis procedure should simultaneously account for the root-mean-square phase error, transient component, settling time, stability margin, the impact of internal implementation factors, and bit-error-rate constraints.
