Abstract

The article presents a systematic study of innovative methods for the formation of nanostructured anti-friction coatings aimed at reducing friction and wear on working surfaces of components operating under intensive loads, high temperatures, and aggressive environments. Nanostructured coatings are characterized by unique interfacial properties, such as high hardness, wear resistance, corrosion stability, and the ability to evenly distribute mechanical loads. This not only extends the service life of mechanical assemblies but also reduces maintenance costs. Six primary coating deposition methods are considered: physical and chemical vapor deposition, electrodeposition, laser cladding, sol-gel synthesis, and spray coating techniques. For each method, the operating principle, the range of controllable parameters, and a list of objective functions used in mathematical modeling of the process are described. The study demonstrates that the efficiency of coating synthesis depends on selecting an optimal combination of technological variables, substrate type, and the functional purpose of the final product. The paper substantiates the relevance of a multi-criteria approach to optimizing the nanostructured coating application process, taking into account morphological and physicomechanical properties of the layer, as well as operational constraints, energy consumption, economic feasibility, and environmental safety. The proposed methodology enables adaptation of the coating formation process to specific production conditions while meeting safety, certification, and sustainability standards. The results can be applied in high-tech industries and serve as a foundation for further research in the fields of nanomaterials, mechanical engineering, and operation of complex technical systems.
