peak current control, a method of self-optimizing control of battery charge and dischargeAbstract
The article develops a block diagram that implements a method of self-optimizing control of the charge and discharge of a battery. A PID controller with two additional poles is used to control the voltage.
For current control, we use peak current control. The advantage of this type of control is that it limits the maximum value of the input current of the system. When powered by a battery, this type of control acts as a safety measure, preventing excessive current consumption by the load.
The input current of the system (or the current through the coil, since they are equal when is operating) is compared with the control current in such a way that when the current becomes greater than the reference current, the control signal of the switch is deactivated. Thus, acts as a current limit.
