MOBILE APPLICATIONS IN EDUCATION: DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTELLIGENT ANDROID APPLICATION TO IMPROVE THE INFORMATION ACCESSIBILITY OF THE CLASS SCHEDULE

Abstract

At the current stage of the development of information and educational technologies, the ability to provide users with access to convenient and reliable programs not only for organizing the educational process, but also those that provide access to other necessary sources of information is of great importance.

  Due to the changes that we have experienced in recent years, receiving educational services in the remote mode and in the mode of completing the tasks of the curriculum at a time convenient for students is of great importance. One of the main factors influencing the quality of education is the ability of students to use time rationally and effectively, therefore, in most educational institutions, the provision of current information about events at the university through the Internet on the official websites of educational institutions has been implemented. The class schedule, in our opinion, refers to the information that students should have access to and be able to review at any time. The electronic schedule and programs for accessing it on mobile devices are the key to solving the problem of optimizing the use of your time. Therefore, the topic of developing an intelligent Android application to facilitate access to the schedule of classes goes beyond the usual technological improvement of some activity and acquires special importance in the context of modern educational trends. The modern educational environment is undergoing significant changes due to the rapid introduction of digital and information technologies, and this leads to a noticeable increase in the mobility of students.

The article deals with the issue of the introduction of digital and information technologies to improve the organization of the educational process in higher education institutions, in particular, the development and use of software tools that can be used in mobile devices on the example of the development of an Android application for the university's schedule of classes. In accordance with the goal, an analysis of the needs of students and teachers in relation to such an information platform was carried out, the justification of the choice of the operating system and the mobile application development environment was made. An algorithm for the operation of the mobile application is proposed, which provides convenient access to the schedule of classes with the possibility of filtering the data that will be displayed on the screen and possible changes of which will be tracked by the program in automatic mode. The implementation of additional functions for notifying the user about changes in the schedule and informing about the start of the next pair in advance is also taken into account. Conclusions were made about the expediency of receiving feedback from users after the implementation of the application, as well as ways of possible improvement of this mobile application were outlined.
